TheWorldWideIdol Works for Entrepreneurs and Singers in the Music Business
I can't blow a tune if my life depended on it but I wrote this post about TheWorldWideIdol to let entrepreneur musicians, performers, and executives in the music business know about this useful online competition. In fact I think I enjoy it more than the music competition reality shows.
If you're anyone with any kind of singing or vocal talent and have never heard of theworldwideidol.com, then you've been missing out on something big. When I first came across this site, I was immediately hooked. Visit www.theworldwideidol.com to see singers compete in online music competitions and network with other talents.
The best way I can describe The World Wide Idol is like an online music cafe that combines American Idol with social networking, and you get to see way more everyday competitors boasting their vocals from some cool settings. The variety of students competing in vocal competitions is pretty interesting. At the end of each month a winner is selected and that student gets a certain prize in cash or some really cool gadget. Think expensive stuff like X-Box, Wii, and others. Of course the best prize is being discovered and getting that big break with a record company or something equivalent.
Competitors range from high school singers, college singers, music fans, budding music industry entrepreneurs. Pretty much all music genres are represented, including Pop, Rap, R&B, Rock, and many more. The talent pool offer some interesting and funny vocal renditions, but who am I to tell anyone they can't sing, everyone deserves to be heard. Another great thing about this online singing competition format is that members record and submit their videos from wherever their comfort zone is, without the pressure of standing in front of intimidating judges like you see on reality music competition shows.
TWWI has a healthy and steady growing user base and recently boasted nearly 5000 registered talents. If you think you can sing and have an interest in being discovered, join the community of aspiring, entrepreneurial, and motivated young singers trying to catch a break. Even if you have rusty vocals they still welcome you. Many talent agents and music executives are watching this site closely like they do Youtube. The WorldWideIdol is on the list of sites that will probably breakout into massive popularity in the next few years. Any tool that encourages artistic creativity and a potential way to advance your music career financially is worth paying attention to.

Someone might want to tell them American Idol is stealing their idea now, and doing online auditions. I've checked out Isoundbetter quite a few times and I know for a fact they've been doing contest and video music submissions before American Idol did. Nothing's safe on the web man. You put an idea out there and some no talent no idea making guy steals it to do a ripoff imitation.
I added a music video to theWorldWideIdol using my smartphone and I didn't win any competitions but the video got some good playtime and user support and appreciation. I'm a music major in college but I would like to open my own studio one day and produce music for others. I'd rather work on the business backend of music, that's where all the real profit is managing and owning the music.

I like Isoundbetter, I use them all the time. Of course I never win the competitions but that never stopped me from trying. You never know right?
