Wonder Woman Tactics: Power Lifting to Power Marketing

Back in the day you did not catch me on a cheerleading squad or dance team. I could not see myself tumbling or performing in front of large crowds. I could see myself, however, lifting weights. As a member of a youth powerlifting team it gave me self worth, strength and confidence. I even broke the New York State deadlifting record for my weight category. By any stretch of the imagination that was some feat for a wonder woman to accomplish. I didn't have muscles bulging every where but my self esteem soared and I believe this is what gave me the confidence I have today. Anything is now possible in my mind since I've achieved self-confidence .

 

Now I'm a grown woman in business and local marketing is part of my repertoire, but not even that can compare to the world of possibilities and connections I've experienced in internet marketing. I'll use a sexy comic book heroine and a funky and simple anology to gauge the two marketing methods: If local marketing is wonder woman, then internet marketing is wonder woman on steroids (permanent steroids). It wasn't until my husband encouraged me to dive in the world of online marketing that I realized how much I'd been short changing myself. 

 

I have an endless stream of niche related people I talk to everyday at whatever hour I feel like. I engage in conversations, jokes, and mutual business advice and it's benefited my brand in such a positive way such as increased traffic to Erookie and new interest in "Diapers to Dollars," my how-to success guide for stay at home moms in business. I've always used Facebook, but more to connect with friends and family. I decided to go full force on Twitter and in two short months I've gained 3000 followers who actively engage with me in building my personal and business brand

 

Though forums are a less crowded internet marketing channel than social media, I put a lot of energy there too and discovered they work well for engaging fellow marketers in easy group settings on advice threads. It's also easy to use an effective two or five minute video segment to turn random viewers into dedicated fans and subscribers, but as I mentioned, the key is producing something attention grabbing and effective. Turning robotic business advice into something tasteful and exciting is an art form you master through trial and error, viewer feedback, and a hundred video takes.

 

With internet marketing my business brand gets round the clock 24 hour boost where limited local marketing falls short. When I'm not writing content to promote Erookie, internet marketing does it for me even as I sleep. I like and respect local marketing, but that's not something I could accomplish there.

 

How much time you commit to internet marketing however, is dependent on your own drive and daily schedule. I'm a busy mom of three, and co-owner of two businesses, so the positive responses and interest I receive is a welcomed shot in the arm. In my opinion, that should justify calling internet marketing wonder woman on steroids, don't you think?
